growing space.

Recently,

after over a year of on-again, off-again reading, I finally finished Eat, Pray, Love. [ see July 14th post]

This deserves at the very least, a hoooorrraayy !! About time, slow poke!

Reading used to be one of my all-time favorite pastimes. I'd even go as far as to say books

were officially my first, true love.

I remember being young , and my mama taking me to the library, where I would stock up on books for the summer. I'd breeze through them, sometimes even reading a whole book in one day! (Which at the time was considered quite an accomplishment in my mind)

I would lay on our front porch swing, as she read stories to my brother and I. Swinging back and forth, her playing with my hair, wind blowing on our faces.

We'd ask questions, and take on those characters , real or make believe. Believing the words on the pages were genuine and true.

One thing is certain:

All the women in our family are book whores.

This love still remains, although I have been oh-so-guilty of starting many, then drifting off into every day routines, being "too busy", forgetting to let my mind drift into these imaginative places.

For a long while they've sat there, collecting dust. Hoping one day I'd pick them up again, to finish them, through and through.

Often I'd pick em up again, to really honestly make an effort to finish them.

But the alarm would sound and off I go to complete the days duties.

Forgetting, once again, that neverneverland of sorts; those endless streams of letters and words making up the greatest escape of all.

Two books I have recently purchased that I am beyond excited about are both seemingly enlightening and hopeful reads.

The first, recommended to me by my dear friend Brittney, after she posted this quote from the book: ( which I instantly fell in love with)

"but, like ivy, we grow where there is room for us.."

No One Belongs Here More Than You

by Miranda July

The second book, I stumbled upon while reading the latest Nylon.

This one I have just began reading and already have laughed approximately 6 times. I'm only on page 12.

Everything Is Going to Be Great

[an underfunded and overexposed european grand tour]

by Rachel Shukert

I also went a bit "wild" as they say, in the Travel section at the local Books-A-Million.

I've been saying for a long while now how I'd love to learn both spanish and french and

well, quite frankly, why the hell not start now. On my own.

I've looked into a few classes that I may start taking, as well as investing into that fancy Rosetta Stone thingy (after I sell an arm and a leg).

For now I'll test my own vague remembrance of high schools Spanish I & II.

As for french, with no one as of yet to correct my every annunciation mistake, this could get interesting. (And a bit breathy and non-romantic.)

Please wish me (if nothing at all but) luck

and keep the snickers at a minimum if you happen to hear me practicing aloud in your presence.

au revior ma amours!

rearrangement.

I've been contemplating anything and everything new the past year and probably more-so the past few months.

Because it all seems to be a bit like a tornado twirling round my head as of late, let's just start with the simple stuff.

While feeling stagnant, overwhelmed, and frustrated all in one day,
I decided to shut my mind, and just start cleaning.

Surprisingly, it helped.

rearrangement.

five hours later, not so bad.

now what?

cucumber water is THE BEST beverage to refresh yourself during the hot hot heat.

I've had the WEIRDEST craving for fish tacos all week.
I'm obsessed.

* I do not take credit for any of the above photographs. they are beautiful and wonderful :)

a dream, within a dream, within a dream...

Saturday night, J and I went and saw Inception. I will add to the majority when I say this is by far the best movie I have seen in a very, very , long time. Having bought our tickets just in time, we arrived with minutes to spare, while others had to settle with seeing the later show. SOLD OUT. Due to our lack in promptness, we rushed in to search for the best seat, and as the movie gods would have it, us tardy kids got what we deserve-- the FRONT ROW.

Just when I thought I could explode from aggravation, the movie began and I was quickly immersed in Christopher Nolan's world, and what a mighty and intricate world it was.
Any and all previous thoughts had been immediately erased and I was soaking in his universe.
Commence multiple brain explosions.

If you haven't seen this film yet, please, run, summersault, rollerblade, or hitch-hike to your local theatre.

yes, it's that good.

the quiet girl, in the back of the temple.

I FINALLY GOT TO SEE/SPEAK WITH ELLEN!!
after many many failed attempts, we got our video chat to work!!

this has rejuvenated my soul. :)

I have been reading Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert for over a year & a half or so now..having started it way back when I was dealing with all sorts of emotions and loss.

to dropping it.
then picking it up again.
to now, sticking to it, until I am finally finished.
I particularly enjoy this one quote , " Your treasure--your perfection--is within you already. But to claim it, you must leave the busy commotion of the mind and abandon the desires of the ego and enter into the silence of the heart."

this is what I'm learning to do.

today I spent the day with my parents, wrote letters to my dearies that are miles and miles away, & reorganized my life. ( or really, just unpacked my bags....for now that is)

Now, Becky is coming up to see ME!! I am beyond excited. It seems it's harder when you grow up to hang and stuff...that part sucks. but knowing we are all still the same , and have the same hearts...that's what matters..

at the end of the day atleast.

Florida Forever.

last week i was able to take a much needed , long awaited vacation through florida with some of my favorite people.

through georgia, we started the trip off with a stay in Lake City, FL.
9 hours down, we arrived just in time for the hotel's social hour, we mingled, and sipped on free beverages, ALL poolside.

from there, we drove 3 hours south, to Orlando, FL.

thanks to my parents, we were able to stay in some of the nicest resorts for FREE!
(thanks mama and daddy!)

during our stay in Orlando, we went swimming, indulged ourselves in great random conversation, rediscovered our "inner child" at Universal Studios & Islands of Adventures...

and YES, we par-took in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

mid-week we drove to daytona beach, where we played and tackled the waves.
my nephew , parents , & grandmother joined up with us, making this day perfection!

on up the road 2 hours,we went to explore one of THE oldest towns in the U.S., St. Augustine!
this city is one of my absolute favorites!

i'll let the photos explain themselves. there are more to come, my friends...

needless to say, i did not wanna leave. but the road is open & my heart is answering its call.
:)

brand new.

the time has circled 'round again, folks.
for the sake of my sanity, i have decided to write again.

i'm unsure how long it's been exactly.
but boy, oh boy, am i estatic!
